The Relax
from Isomac is a value priced professional grade espresso/cappuccino
machine designed to fit well in the home, office or small cafe. Weighing
in at a whopping 48 pounds, it's a tough machine designed to take the
abuse of frequent use. Its ability to brew espresso froth milk at the
same time make the Relax very attractive, as few machines exist in this
price range with this ability. As is the usual for Isomac, the housing
is stainless steel from top to bottom. The Relax also has the goods on
the inside with its large nickel plated copper boiler, heavy duty brass
plumbing and fittings, and high quality electrical components.
Unusual on machines priced under
$2000, the relax features two pressure gauges. One is for measuring the
boiler pressure and the other is used to monitor brewing pressure while
you are pulling an espresso shot, a nice touch. Although the Relax does
not have the coveted E61 brewing system found on the Isomac Tea and Millennium machines, the Relax holds its own in producing excellent
espresso shots.

Large
1.4 Liter Nickel Plated Brass Boiler with Safety System
The Relax
features one of the largest boilers for a machine its
size. A large capacity boiler makes the production of espresso
drinks easy because there is no waiting for the machine to "recover" between
shots of espresso or after steaming milk. The Relax will be
able to produce espresso and steam milk as fast as you require!
The
boiler is made of heavy duty nickel plated brass and is equipped with an advanced
1400 watt heating element.
The water tank is equipped with
a low-water system that detects if the water level in the tank falls
below a certain point. If the water tank should inadvertently run dry,
a sensor will turn off the machine to prevent accidental over heating
of the heating element.

Heavy
Duty Pump System
High-performance pump system provides uniform and constant pump
pressure making a superior espresso with thick crema. |
Brew
Espresso & Steam Milk At The Same Time - An Absolute Necessity
For Any Espresso Machine Used in a Commercial Environment!
The
Relax is the least expensive espresso machine we know of that
has the ability to brew espresso and steam milk at the same time!
This saves a lot of time and eliminates the need for you to wait
for the boiler to "recover" between espresso brewing and milk heating
functions.
|
Large
3 Liter Removable Water Tank
The
large water tank allows for large numbers of drinks to be made
before refilling - ideal for commercial use. You may refill the
water tank during operation or remove the tank to refill at your
tap.
|
Rechargeable
Water Softener
The Relax has a rechargeable water
softener located in the water tank. A water softener removes
mineral deposits that build up on the boiler. The water
softener does not have to be used if you already have soft water.
|
Heavy
Duty Electrical System
The
power supply and durable electrical system allow the Relax to
be left on all day so that it's always ready to serve espresso
or heat milk. The heating element heats the water in the boiler
in less than 5 minutes from initial power-up.
|
Commercial
Grade Housing & Frame
The
frame is made of heavy gauge stainless steel for many years of service. The
exterior is made of polished stainless steel. The frame features
anti-rust and corrosion protection.
|
Cup
Warming Plate
The Relax
offers a polished stainless steal cup warming surface
on top of the machine with rails to keep them in place. Warm espresso cups are essential for great
tasting espresso.
|
Removable
Drip & Cup Tray
The
drip tray is made of stainless steel and it removes for easy cleaning.
The cup tray is made of polished stainless steel which also removes
for cleaning.
|
Heavy Duty
Portafilters
The machine ships with two
portafilters made of chrome-plated brass (with a strong plastic handle),
which accepts a commercial-standard size 58 mm filter basket. One
portafilter has a dual dispensing spout while the other has a single
spout. The Relax comes with 2 stainless steel filter baskets, one for a
single shot and one for a double shot of espresso.
|
Controls
are Conveniently Located
The
control panel on the front of the machine features heavy duty
knobs that control the steaming and hot water function. The
machine is turned on by a stainless steel button, and a red light next to
the power button illuminates when the machine is powered. The red
light next to the brewing button illuminates when the water in the
boiler is heating, and when the green light next to the brewing button illuminates you are
ready to start brewing espresso. The Relax comes equipped with two
gauges; the left gauge is the boiler pressure gauge, which shows when
the pressure in the boiler is at its optimum level for brewing espresso
or frothing milk. The right gauge on the control panel reads your
brewing pressure.

Powerful
Milk Steaming/Frothing Capability
Thanks to the large dual heat
exchange boiler, you will enjoy powerful steam production for fast
preparation of cappuccino, lattes, and cafe mochas. The chrome-plated
brass steam wand is mounted on a swivel joint for a wide range of
motion, and easily accommodates any size milk-frothing pitcher. The
steam wand is equipped with a two-hole steam dispersion tip, which
distributes steam through the milk for superior heating. One nice
feature we noticed is that you may set the frothing pitcher on the drip
tray while frothing thanks to the wide range of movement of the steam
arm. Many machines require that you hold the pitcher while frothing.
Isomac also went one step further and added heat resistant grips on
steam wand, so it can easily swivel accommodating any size pitcher.

Instant
Hot Water Dispenser
Instant
hot water dispensing for tea or other hot beverages. When the knob
on the right is turned on, it releases hot water from the boiler
instantly from the dispenser on the right side of the machine.
This is useful for preheating cups or adding hot water to your
espresso to make an Americano.
