Features The Rapid Steam System
& Digital Display
Digital capability moves super
automatic espresso machines to a new level, and the Saeco Vienna Digital
is one of the most economical digital models out there. This machine
represents the top of the Vienna line and it comes in an exhilarating new
metallic champagne color with a digital display for greater control
over beverage production. Combine this with the Rapid-Steam® and Opti-Dose®
features to create a true winner!
You can place this
espresso machine in your home or office and expect it to perform
beautifully. The Vienna Digital has all of the features as the Vienna
de Luxe with the addition of a digital display, the ability to program
the brewing temperature, automatic cleaning cycle, additional warning
messages on the display, and when it needs to be cleaned. It also
features a new Champagne finish!
The Vienna
Digital espresso machine features a simple control panel with easy to use
buttons and an easy to read digital display screen. Simply press one
of the coffee brew buttons and it will automatically grind your coffee
beans, fresh, and dispense freshly brewed, rich and favorable coffee into
your cup. It allows you to choose the volume, strength, and
temperature of your coffee by simply pressing buttons on the control
panel.

Digital Display and Control
From the control panel, you can: adjust the brewing temperature of the
machine; set the machine for pre-infusion (pre-soaking of the coffee
grounds); set the machines' standby time; set the machine for 'pre-grind'
so that when you activate the brew button, the coffee has already been
ground and it brews right away; set the language; set the machine's water
hardness level monitor; view the number of cups brewed; set the energy
saving mode; and more. All the controls are located in one convenient
place on the front of the machine. They are laid out to be easy to
understand and easy to use.
The machine is equipped with sensors
that tell when the water reservoir is empty or the coffee bean hopper has
run out of coffee beans. If an important component is out of place, such
as the drip tray, service door, brew group, or grounds dump box, the
display will prompt you to refill the water tank or beans, or to check the
component in question.
Set the machine to brew a short espresso, long espresso, and cafe Suisse
with the help of three different brewing buttons. Programming is a snap:
simply press and hold the button you want to program. As the machine
starts brewing, you will see the display change to
"Programming". When you release the button, the machine will use
whatever volume of brew produced during the programming as the preset
volume for subsequent times that button is pressed.
Want a single? Press any of the
three brewing buttons once. Want a double? Just "double click"
the button and the machine automatically sets up to brew two shots.

Advanced Brew Group
The Vienna Digital uses an advanced
automatic brewing system. Acting as the "heart" of the super
automatic espresso machine, it accepts freshly ground coffee from the
built-in coffee grinder. It tamps the coffee perfectly, pre-soaks the
grounds with a special "pre-infusion" step (described below),
brews the coffee, and then dumps the used coffee grounds into the internal
dump box. Once the brewing cycle has been completed, it resets itself for
the next cup of coffee. The brew group is removable so cleaning and
maintenance can be done. |
Pre-Infusion System
The two-step pre-infusion cycle moistens and conditions the ground coffee,
which maximizes flavor extraction to increase the thick crema on your
espresso. The Vienna Digital accomplishes this by infusing (or presoaking)
the fresh coffee grounds with a dash of hot water for 2 seconds.
Thereafter, it completes the brewing process by infusing the remainder of
the predetermined water through the coffee grounds. The result is a
superior cup of espresso or coffee. |
Crema
Coffee Center
Simply make a small adjustment to the coffee grinder to make the
coffee grounds more course. This in turn will allow the water to
flow more freely through the coffee grounds as required for cafe crème.
The result is a wonderfully aromatic and flavor-rich coffee that is smooth
and not as intense as espresso, and it will be topped with a layer of
crema. Many of our customers are enjoying the use of their machine
for this purpose in addition to espresso. Cafe crème is a good
replacement for most coffee makers (like a drip coffee maker), because in
about 35 seconds, the machine will brew about 5 ounces of fresh
pressure-brewed coffee without the mess. Another benefit is that this
brewing method requires far less ground coffee per serving thus saving you
money! Many refer to cafe crème as Swiss brewed coffee as it is
very popular among Swiss consumers.

Rapid-Steam® Technology and
Hot Water Dispenser
The Saeco Vienna Digital features Saeco's patented Rapid-Steam® system,
so there is almost no wait time to get ample steaming ability for building
a first rate cappuccino or latte beverage. Where non-Rapid-Steam® super
automatics leave you waiting 40 seconds or longer for the steam pressure
to build up, the Vienna Digital has you ready to go in 10 seconds or less.
The Digital's boiler and Rapid-Steam® system delivers ample, long running
steam for building multiple drinks. The optional milk froth-aider tip
supplied with the machine is specially designed to insure virtually
perfect foam for cappuccino or lattes, even if you are a novice. The steam
wand is located on the right front of the machine on a swivel joint, which
allows you to place either a 12 oz. or 20 oz. frothing pitcher underneath.
The Vienna Digital provides instant hot water through the steam wand at
the press of a button and the turn of a knob for making other hot
beverages, including tea, hot chocolate, and Americanos. |
Opti-Dose System
This system allows you to adjust the amount of ground coffee the grinder
dispenses into the brew system for each cup of coffee. You may set the
coffee dosage between 6 and 9 grams. The average dose of ground coffee
to make a shot of espresso is 7 grams. When you push the coffee brew
button the grinder will automatically begin grinding the amount of grams
you have specified (from 6 - 9 grams), and then places the ground coffee
into the brew group before brewing begins. Being able to adjust the
dosage allows you to make a stronger or weaker espresso (or cup of
coffee) without altering the amount of water.

Superior Quality Grinder Built
In
Super automatic espresso machines feature a built in grinder. The Digital
has a high quality conical burr grinder with a large, hardened temper
steel cutting surface that delivers consistent, even and fine grinding,
factors needed for producing a superior espresso. The grinder's fineness
level is adjustable, allowing for easy switching between grinding for
espresso (finer grind) and café crème (coarser grind). The machine's
coffee bean hopper holds 12 ounces of beans and features a tight-fitting
lid to help keep your beans fresh. |
Large Removable Water
Reservoir
The Vienna Digital features a 57ounce capacity water reservoir that can be
refilled while the machine is operating, or removed for easy filling at
the water tap. It even includes an easy-grip handle for convenient
handling. The tinted, see through ABS plastic gives you an easy indicator
of the amount of water left in the machine. |
Adjustable Coffee Dispensing
Nozzle
The Saeco Vienna Digital can easily
adjust between a small 2 oz. espresso cup and a large 4” high coffee
mug, thanks to the adjustable height coffee-dispensing nozzle. |
Internal Dump Box
The machine automatically dumps spent pucks of coffee into an
internal dump box, which can be easily removed when necessary. It holds
roughly 25 pucks before it needs to be emptied. |
Slide Out Cup Tray and Drip
Pan
A single drawer slides out from the front of the machine. It contains the
cup tray and drip pan. It’s made of durable plastic and cleans easily in
the kitchen sink with water and mild detergent. |
Powerful Pump, Ingenious Brew System
Like all Saeco super automatics, the
Vienna Digital features a powerful vibratory pump rated at 15BAR of
pressure. The machine only requires a steady 9BAR to produce first-rate
espresso; the extra pressure is held in reserve, as it were, to ensure the
machine's pressure can plow through the finest grinds and keep the
pressure extremely even throughout the drink building process. One of the
crucial things to good espresso is an even extraction rate, and the
Saeco's pump delivers. |
Instant Hot Water
The machine provides instant
hot water through the steam wand at the press of a button and the turn
of a knob for making other hot beverages, including tea, hot chocolate,
and Americanos.
|
Smart Sensors
The machine is equipped with sensors
that tell when the water reservoir is empty or the bean hopper has run out
of coffee beans. If an important component is out of place, such as the
drip tray, service door, brew group, or grounds dump box, a red light will
illuminate. |
Swivel Base
The bottom of the machine
is equipped with a swivel base that allows you to turn the entire unit for
easy access to the sides and back. This makes cleaning and service easier. |
Accessories
The Saeco Vienna Digital includes a
cleaning brush for the coffee grinder, a brew group maintenance tool, and
detailed instructions on how to get the most out of your machine, and an
instructional video. |
